33 in stable condition after bus crash in N China

HOHHOT - Thirty three people injured when a tourist bus veered off a mountain road and crashed in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Sunday are in a stable condition, a hospital spokesperson said Monday.

Thirty five casualties had been transported to Linxi County Hospital but two died on the way to the hospital, the spokesperson said.

The tourist bus with 43 people aboard was en route from Anshan City in northeast China's Liaoning Province to a grassland resort in Keshiketeng Banner in Inner Mongolia when it careened off a winding road section near Chifeng City at 3:21 p.m. Seven people were killed in the accident.

The bus belongs to "Romantic Holiday," a tourism agency in Tai'an County, Liaoning Province.

Police are investigating the accident.
