China's power consumption rises 14.14% in June

BEIJING - China's power consumption rose 14.14 percent year-on-year to 352 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in June, the National Energy Administration (NEA) said in a statement on its website Wednesday.

The growth rate was 6.66 percentage points lower than in May.

In the first half year, China's electricity consumption topped 2.01 trillion kWh, up 21.57 percent on a year-on-year basis.

Primary industry consumption grew 5.61 percent to 45.1 billion kWh in the first half on a year-on-year basis.

Industrial use of electricity rose 24.24 percent to 1.52 trillion kWh in the first half on a year-on-year basis.

Tertiary industry power consumption rose 16.19 percent to 208.6 billion kWh in the first half on a year-on-year basis.
