After being briefed by the provincial government and inspecting the crash site Wednesday morning, the vice premier decided to separate the work team into two: one team to investigate the disaster and the other to coordinate the emergency work.
Zhang then visited the injured passengers at local hospitals and urged medical workers to do their very best in treating the injured.
At an emergency meeting with officials from the central and local governments, Zhang ordered relevant government departments to spare no efforts to save the injured.
Zhang demanded a quick investigation into the cause of the accident.
He also requested a thorough safety check of the country's aviation industry.
At least 42 people died while 54 others survived when the Brazilian-made Embraer E-190 jet crashed Tuesday night as it approached Lindu Airport in Yichun city.
