The forum would be the first large gathering of Taiwan and Chinese mainland finance sectors after the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) took effect Sunday, said Hu Shengrong, deputy head of the financial development office of Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu.

The Chinese mainland and Taiwan signed ECFA in June. Under the agreement, the two sides agreed to gradually reduce and remove trade and investment barriers.

Taishin Holdings, SinoPac Holdings and other Taiwanese finance companies would sign deals with the financial development office of Nanjing, Zijin Investment, a subsidiary of Chinese gold miner Zijin Mining, and Bank of Nanjing, among other projects, Hu said.

Details of the deals will be discussed and decided upon during the forum, he said.
