Mainland Red Cross Society donates to typhoon-slammed Taiwan

BEIJING - The mainland-based Red Cross Society of China has donated $100,000 to help relief efforts after typhoon Fanabi slammed Taiwan Sunday.

The Society also expressed their condolences to the Taiwanese people affected by Fanabi through Taiwan's Red Cross Society, a statement from the mainland-based Society said Thursday.

Typhoon Fanabi crashed into Taiwan Sunday morning. It brought heavy rains to southern parts of Taiwan and caused over 100 people to be injured.
