A communiqu issued at the end of the four-day Fourth Plenary Session of the 17th CPC Central Committee also promised to expand and deepen intra-Party democracy, fight corruption more vigorously, intensify economic development and crack down on ethnic separatist activities. Hu Jintao, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, presented a work report at the session, which was also attended by members of the 17th CPC National Congress, who are in charge of Party affairs at the grassroots level, and experts and scholars. The CPC National Committee made public a resolution titled "Opinions on deepening reform of the administrative system", which was adopted by the 17th CPC Central Committee at its second plenary session on Feb 27.
