SHANGHAI - An official in charge of housing supply and administration in Shanghai has been detained on suspicion of accepting bribes, the Shanghai procuratorate said Wednesday.

Tao Xiaoxing, 59, was formerly the vice director of the Shanghai Municipal Housing Support and Building Administration Bureau.

Investigation shows Tao received bribes from individuals and companies after he helped them in processes concerning land usage, the People's Procuratorate of Shanghai said.
