Shanghai mayor Han Zheng said Friday that the Taiwan pavilion will join in the trial operation of 2010 Shanghai World Expo on schedule, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The Expo trial run will start on April 20.
Han, who is set to visit Taiwan next week, said during a meeting with Taiwan journalists in Shanghai that an important part of his visit is to promote the Expo to Taiwan public.
In addition to the 1,400-square-meter Taiwan pavilion, Taipei city will also showcase two projects, Wireless Taipei and Taipei Infinity, at the Urban Best Practices Area (UBPA) of the Expo site.
In the two programs, Taipei will demonstrate how to build up a wireless network that lets people use the Internet to deal with day-to-day tasks and how it's aiming at a complete recycling of resources and zero burial of garbage, according to an earlier CCTV report.
Shanghai World Expo will open on May 1 and run through October 31st. It is estimated that the event will attract 70 million visitors from home and abroad.
