Shanghai Expo media center starts operation

A 12,000-square-meter media center for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo started operation on Tuesday at Expo Center, and a sub-media center will open in the Puxi section of the Expo Park, xinmin.cn reported.

The media center has press conference halls, public work spaces, private work spaces, comprehensive service desks, reporter rest areas and work spaces for those on deadline.

An international broadcast center was also put into use Tuesday, to provide the latest information from the Expo by radio and television to people at home and abroad.

A total of 13,000 domestic and foreign reporters have registered to cover the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
