Hu to meet with major Taiwan guests attending Expo

BEIJING - Chinese President Hu Jintao will meet representatives of Taiwan guests attending the upcoming Shanghai World Expo.

Fan Liqing, spokeswoman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, told a press conference held in Beijing Wednesday that more than 100 Taiwan dignitaries had been invited by the Expo organizing committee to attend the Expo.

They include Taiwan-based Kuomintang Honorary Chairman Lien Chan and Wu Poh-hsiung, as well as the People First Party Chairman James Soong.
