Top hotels in southeast China's Suzhou city, are preparing to capitalize on the many visitors who will come to the Yangtze River Delta Region for the Shanghai Expo.
Among these hotels, the Grand Metropark, which opened in September 2007, is preparing for an increase in business. Operated by H.K. CTS Hotels Co Ltd, it is an international five-star.
The name "Metropark" combines the words "metropolitan" and "park", and stands for rest and relaxation within a flourishing urban environment said Chan Chihung, general manager of the hotel.
Chan joined the hotel in 2006. He believes that a hotel can thrive only by competition.
"Suzhou is not only a beautiful tourist destination, but also a place where business and high-tech industries grow fast," he said. "It is very suitable for the development of hotels."
"We have a competitive brand and rich resources. With experience gained from managing hotels in international cities like Hong Kong and Macao, I think we can make a successful business on the mainland. With our cooperative managing team, we can offer personalized service to every customer."
The hotel is conveniently located, just five minutes drive to the nearest Expressway, 30 minutes to Wuxi Airport and 75 minutes to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.
As the first high-speed intercity railway in the province is set to open to traffic on July 1, the Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway has made the transportation between Shanghai and Suzhou faster and more efficient.
The Grand Metropark hotel has a total of 382 elaborately designed guest rooms, of which the minimum size is 42 square meters, as well as 105 apartments.
All guest rooms and apartments are equipped with air-conditioning, fire emergency system, telephone, mini-bar, refrigerator, private safe, and LCD TV. There are some elite rooms including the Serene Room, Lady's Suite and Executive Taipan Room.

"With heartfelt service, we hope to win the hearts of our guests," he added. "We want them to feel at home, by offering both physical and mental comfort."
The Grand Metropark hotel Suzhou is now promoting its new programs specially designed for the Expo, such as the "568-yuan Deluxe Room Program" and the "238-yuan Conference Service Package". "We will provide comfortable, affordable and meticulous services for business clients from around the world," said Chan.
Located at Suzhou International Science Park on Jinjihu Avenue, the hotel is now a notable landmark of the SIP.
"Encouraged by praise from our customers, we will further improve our service, so that more people will get to know and enjoy The Grand Metropark," said Chan.
