Young musicians from all over the world are taking part in the Shanghai Expo from July 4 to 18 as part of the "Young Expo" series of events.
Students from the Royal Danish Academy of Music, the Utah State University and the Yale University, played percussion and jazz music and sang at Exposition Square in the Expo's Puxi site.
More than 2,000 students from institutions including Sydney University, Harvard and Yale universities are performing at the square.
The musical styles are wide ranging - from percussion, jazz, rock and folk to classical, dance and choral works. Music from Japan and China's Peking Opera are also performed.
Among the groups are a 12-strong harp ensemble from Arizona University and the Oxford University Big Band.
The festival has been co-organized by Fudan University. Other students are from the Royal Danish Academy of Music, Australia's Canon Hill College, Tsinghua University, Peking University, London's Imperial College, Hong Kong University, Taiwan University, Macau University and middle schools.
