British artist Alan Grieg yesterday displayed the best of Scottish contemporary choreography at the UK Pavilion by performing a collage of athletic, provocative and entertaining pieces adapted from his solo show "Into the Light."
Grieg, the artistic director of X Factor Dance Company, first presented the show at the 2009 Shanghai Dance Festival.

His choreography explores a wide variety of subjects, drawing inspiration from movies, music and the complexities of emotional, human and sexual relationships.
"Into the Light" is a brand new solo show from Greig. The performance is a showcase for Greig's accessible, provocative, athletic and highly visual idiosyncratic style. It mixes five distinctive solos with film, props and original music compositions.
X Factor Dance Company was formed in 1990 by artistic director Greig. The Guardian newspaper hailed its debut show as "wonderfully refreshing." The company has toured Scotland's leading venues on a regular basis for 19 years and has performed at the Edinburgh fringe festival, London, Cologne, Nuremburg, New York, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
