Rain failed to dampen visitors' enthusiasm on July 11 as the Expo site attracted as many as 430,800 people as of 7:30pm.

Among Sunday's visitors, 117,400 were group tourists, and 86,400 visitors used free tickets Shanghai government distributed to local residents.

A total of 51,689 tickets were sold on site, with 14,981 evening admissions.

As of 6pm, Shangnan Road, Houtan, Changqing Road, and Gaoke Road W. gates received 84,000, 80,000, 61,000, and 55,000 visitors respectively.

A total of 56 shows were staged by 5pm, attracting 20,100 spectators, while 24 were cancelled due to rain. A total of 8,056 volunteers served on the site.

According to the Expo Bureau's Ticketing Centre, some 150,000 group visitors will visit today. Because of the heavy rainfall forecast Monday and Tuesday, visitors are advised to carry umbrellas around and take precautions when walking as rain may make the roads slippery.
