CHENGDU - Twenty-one people were missing after a rain-triggered landslide hit villages in Hanyuan county, Southwest China's Sichuan province on Tuesday morning, local officials said.
Nearly 58 houses were damaged and 4,000 villagers are being relocated out of the area.
Days of heavy rain has taken its toll in southwest China. On Monday, a mud flow near the border of China and Myanmar left 11 people missing and 11 others injured. The search for survivors in Drung-Nu Autonomous County of Gongshan, Yunnan province, continues on Tuesday.
