MACAO - A spokesman of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) told Xinhua on Monday that no dioxin-tainted eggs were found in Macao market.

Lai Chi Weng, the official for Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau of MSAR, said Macao does not import eggs from Germany or other European countries, and only imported eggs from the Chinese mainland and North America.

The global scare about Germany's dioxin-tainted eggs broke out since the dioxin was found in chicken feed in Germany at the end of last year. Macao has reportedly stopped buying eggs from Europe due to the previous outbreaks of bird flue there.
