The delegation will also attend a BFA round table meeting, talking about cooperation among businesses across the Taiwan Strait after the mainland and Taiwan signed the landmark Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), said Yang Yi, spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, at a press conference.

The BFA's annual conference will start on Friday in Boao, in the southernmost Chinese province of Hainan. Participants will discuss various topics under the main theme of "inclusive development, common agenda and new challenges".

The Boao forum, now on its tenth year, has been hailed as the Asian equivalent of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Also on Wednesday's press conference, Yang Yi said the mainland was willing to facilitate cross-Straits consultations on nuclear safety.

"The Chinese mainland and Taiwan could exchange ideas on establishing an information sharing mechanism and boosting technological exchanges," said Yang, confirming that all nuclear power facilities on the mainland are safe.
