BEIJING - China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation, or Sinopec Corp, said Wednesday that its chairman, Su Shulin, had resigned.
Sinopec's vice chairman Wang Tianpu will take over the duties of chairman until a successor is appointed, the company said in a statement filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
Su was appointed vice governor and acting governor of East China's Fujian Province by the provincial legislature last week.
Fu Chengyu, chairman of China Petrochemical Corporation, has been nominated to become a non-executive director, the statement said.
