When someone burns "ghost money" as a gift to his ancestors, others make real money.
The Chinese burn ghost money when worshipping ancestors in the hope of ensuring their deceased relatives have all the money they need or want in the afterlife.
One ghost money wholesaler in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province, said he sold 300 tons of ghost money during the most recent Tomb Sweeping Festival, which took place earlier this month.
The transactions gave him a profit of 200,000 yuan ($30,000).
Ghost money used to be made by hand out of paper but is now usually printed. Some of it is made to look like the Renminbi.
