Radiation levels remain normal in China

BEIJING - The Chinese mainland's environmental radiation levels remain normal, according to a daily notice posted by China's National Nuclear Emergency Coordination Committee on Sunday.

No abnormalities in drinking water and food supplies have been detected in sample surveys, said the notice.

Monitoring results showed that radiation levels in the inland environment, the air above the sea, and the surface seawater also remained normal in China, it said.

No obvious changes have been observed in the readings from on-site radiation monitoring posts at the quake-damaged Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan, said the notice, quoting a report from the International Atomic Energy Agency on Sunday.
