HONG KONG - The Center for Health Protection in Hong Kong has advised one of the city's nurseries to suspend classes from Tuesday for two weeks due to an outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease affecting five pupils, the city government said Monday in a statement.

Four boys and one girl - aged from three to four - developed symptoms since May 13 at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Lei Tung Nursery School. All of them sought medical treatment, and no hospitalization was required. They are now stable.

Nineteen enterovirus 71 cases have been reported in Hong Kong so far this year. There were 101 cases in 2010 and 31 cases in 2009, according to the statement.
