Macao to host 11th Chinese Film Media Awards

MACAO - The 11th Chinese Film Media Awards will be held in the City of Dreams in Macao's Cotai Strip on June 16, the first time ever that the annual event is held in Macao, the Macao Post Daily reported on Tuesday.

The event, organized by Guangzhou-based Southern Metropolis Daily, will present a total of 15 awards, including best actor, best actress, best director and best film.

According to the organizer, the event is expected to be attended by big names in the Chinese film industry, including actress Tang Wei and director Jiang Wen from the Chinese mainland.

Tang is up for the Best Actress Award for her leading role in Hong Kong film "Crossing Hennessy", organizer said, adding that nearly two dozen films from Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Chinese mainland are nominated.  

It has been held in Hong Kong twice besides the Chinese mainland.
