BEIJING - A total of 99 military attaches and their relatives based in China from 57 foreign countries left for Northeast China from Beijing on Wednesday morning, for a six-day tour of Liaoning and Jilin provinces.

The visiting group will travel to the cities of Shenyang and Dalian in Liaoning province, as well as Changchun, capital city of Jilin province.

According to China's Defense Ministry, during their stay in Shenyang, the group will visit the Shenyang Military Area Command, as well as relevant military academies.

The group will also tour local industrial and agricultural projects.

The Chinese Defense Ministry arranges visits outside of Beijing annually for foreign military attaches based in the capital, in order to help them better understand the country's national conditions and military situation.

The Ministry said the visits of this year will deepen the foreign military attaches' knowledge of China's development in the northeast of the country and help them learn how the armed forces in Shenyang contribute to local economic construction.
