House caves in amid refit, traps many in Jiangsu

NANJING - Sixteen workers were buried after a house collapsed Sunday morning in eastern China's Jiangsu province, according to local government sources.

The accident occurred around 8:20 am Sunday at the site of an old office decoration project in Qianqiao community of Huishan district, Wuxi city.

Five out of the buried have been sent to hospital, and they are in stable conditions. Rescuers are searching for the remaining 11 who are still missing.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
