5.2-magnitude quake hits southwest China

BEIJING - An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale hit the Tengchong County near the city of Baoshan in southwest China's Yunnan Province at 6:16 pm Beijing Time Monday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter was monitored at 25.1 degrees north latitude and 98.7 degrees east longitude with a depth of about 10 kilometers, the center said.
