Flooded coal mine traps 6 in Shandong

JINAN - At least six people are trapped underground after an illegal private coal mine was flooded Tuesday night in East China's Shandong province, local government sources said Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred at around 9:00 pm Tuesday at Shantou village of Zhaili township of Zibo city.

Rescue work is under way, and cause of the accident is being investigated.
