SHANGHAI - A man who allegedly planted a bomb that exploded, without causing injuries, in a supermarket in Shanghai on Monday has been caught, said local police.
Supermarket RT-MART in Shanghai's Jiading District received an anonymous call at 1:10 pm Monday, in which the caller requested to speak to the customer service manager and said he had put a bomb in the supermarket's lockers, said Shanghai municipal police.
After customers and supermarket staff had been evacuated, the bomb went off and damaged the lockers. However, no one was hurt in the blast, police said.
Police investigated the case for three hours before catching a suspect surnamed Qu, who had subsequently confessed to planting the bomb, police said.
The motive behind the attack is still unknown.
