UNITED NATIONS - China called on the international community to support Libya's political transition and post-conflict reconstruction, a Chinese diplomat said here on Wednesday.
The remarks came as Wang Min, China's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, addressed an open meeting where Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Luis Moreno-Ocampo made a briefing on the situation in Libya.
Wang said that at present Libya has entered a new historical stage. "We hope Libya to start as soon as possible an inclusive political transition process, safeguard national unity and integrity, take early steps to achieve social stability and begin political, economic reconstruction," Wang said.
"The international community should continue to make joint efforts in support of the political transition and post-conflict reconstruction in Libya," he said.
China's position on issues related to ICC remains unchanged, he noted.
