In 2000, Zhao Bingrui was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, which affected his mobility, speech and eating. His mother, Wang Zuoyun, an ordinary peasant in Panjin, started accompanying Zhao to school two years ago. At the beginning, after taking her son to class on her bicycle, Wang waited in the hall or walked around the school playground, observing her son. Eventually the school decided to let her sit with her son in the first row of the classroom, sharing the same desk. Now Wang's life follows the same routine. She gets up around 5 am, prepares meals for the whole day, and then bicycles her son to school. At noon, she brings her son back home for lunch and massage. Then after school, she helps him with his homework and physical exercise.
