"Thanks for the tolerance of society that allows me back into employment equally after my bad mistake," said Gao Xiaosong, a 42-year-old singer, music producer and director after being re-installed as a judge for the new season of China's Got Talent. Gao served 184 days in jail for a drunken crash that injured four in May.
Nov 16 marks the International Day for Tolerance, an annual observance declared by UNESCO in 1995 to generate public awareness about the need for tolerance in society.
Tolerance is not only about tolerating others' behaviors, but also respecting and recognizing rights and beliefs of the others and being open-minded to different ideas and cultures.
As we mark this international day, will you tolerate something that you did not before? Are you a tolerant person?
