VP leaves Bangkok for home

BANGKOK - Chinese Vice-President Xi Jinping concluded his official visit to Thailand and left here for home on Saturday.
Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Guan Mu and some other officials from both countries saw off Xi at the airport.
Xi started his official visit to Thailand on Thursday as guest of the Thai government.
During his visit, Xi held talks with Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, Speaker of Thailand's House of Representatives Somsak Kiatsuranont and some other Thai senior officials on strengthening relations between their two countries.
On Friday, Xi visited a flood-affected school in Bangkok and reaffirmed China's support for Thailand's post-flood rebuilding and recovery efforts.
Also on Friday, the Chinese vice president delivered a speech at an evening banquet with overseas Chinese in Thailand, outlining a package of priorities in promoting East Asia regional cooperation under the current circumstances.
