ConocoPhillips apologizes over oil spill
ConocoPhillips China apologized again on Nov 13. It was the third time the company apologized for oil spills in North China's Bohai Bay.
In addition to the official apology on Aug 19, ConocoPhillips China published a 1,000-word official apology, but the leak continues. On Aug 24, ConocoPhillips China President Georg Storaker apologized again at a press conference. But the very next day, on Aug 26, the company admitted that 16 new leakage points were found.
Continued apologies after continued leaks make the public doubt the sincerity of the apologies. Some call the apologies "lip service."
