BEIJING - Inspection teams sent by central and local Communist Party of China (CPC) committees across China collected corruption-related information that involved 361 officials at or above county level this year, according to the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
All these clues have been handed to prosecutors and a "huge amount" of issues are being checked, according to a statement released Wednesday by the commission.
The statement said "a bunch of" violators have been seriously punished, but didn't give further details.
According to the commission, inspection teams from provincial-level Party committees visited more than 200 government departments, state-owned enterprises and higher education institutions in 134 cities across the country.
Various inspectors also supervised local elections in 20 provincial-level regions.
