BEIJING - Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said Monday the aim of the country's foreign policy in the next five to ten years is to create a better international environment for China to build a moderately prosperous society.
"We will also make greater efforts to cooperate with other countries in maintaining a peaceful, prosperous and harmonious world," Yang told reporters at a presses conference at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
"To be specific, our foreign policy is to better serve the implementation of the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015) and the acceleration of economic transformation," Yang said.
"We will stick to a win-win strategy, which will enable us to get a broader road in the country's peaceful development," Yang said.
China will not advance its interests at the cost of others in seeking development, he added.
