7 dead, 1 injured in pile-up in E China

HEFEI - Seven people were killed and another one was critically injured in a pile-up on Monday morning on a highway in East China's Anhui Province, said local police.
At about 6 am, a car crashed into a truck on a section of the highway near Xuancheng city. Eight people trapped in the car were rescued and sent to hospital, said local police.
Seven of them, including the driver and two children, were confirmed dead at the hospital.
As of 2 pm Monday, the injured passenger was still in a critical condition.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
