Police have busted an underground fake men's health pill network worth $11.8 million operating across 13 provinces and cities, Beijing Times reports.
Five illegal workshops in Hainan were raided by police and found to be producing a male health pill that contained Viagra, a medicine for erectile dysfunction, to be distributed across China seized in the operation.
Police claimed the gang ringleader was a man surnamed Wang and the products were "very effective" and well packaged.
The paper claimed Wang divided the production process across different places in Haikou, and set up 13 sales distribution centers, including Tianjin municipality, Zhejiang and Hebei provinces.
Police said the transportation between different workshops was only known by Wang and some other key members of the criminal gang.
