QINGDAO - Experts from China's marine authorities forecast that the sea ice covering Liaodong Bay off China's eastern coast is expected to melt next month.
According to a statement made Sunday by the north China sea forecasting center of the State Oceanic Administration, the floating ice over the waters of the northern Yellow Sea and the Liaodong Bay will disappear completely in early March.
Sea ice appeared in the Liaodong Bay in early December last year, and the ice continued to expand in the northern part of the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea.
The ice has been decreasing since the middle of February.
