Diesel leaks from damaged oil pipeline in E China

JINAN - Diesel leaked after a section of an oil pipeline broke Friday morning in Zibo, a city in east China's Shandong province, local authorities said.

Around 8 am Friday, a construction team damaged a section of the oil pipeline near the Jinan-Qingdao Expressway, according to a statement released by the Zibo municipal government.

As of 5 pm Friday, the source of oil passing through the line had been cut off and workers were cleaning up the site.

The exact amount of leaked diesel and losses are still under investigation.

The pipeline belongs to China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec Corp).
