The Eighth China International Cartoon and Games Exposition, an event to support original work and promote the industry, will be held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center on July 12.

Jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Shanghai municipal government, the five-day fair will attract more than 300 exhibitors from 13 countries such as the United States, Japan and Denmark.

The longest-running cartoons and games show in China, the CCG Expo is spread over 27,000 square meters. The exhibits are divided into 10 main categories, including Internet online games, desktop computer games and entertainment gadgets.

This year's expo features cosplay, or costume play, performances, game releases and screenings of animated films such as the 3D versions of The Lion King and Puss in Boots.
