Train services delayed as coach derails in Hunan

CHANGSHA - Services of 10 trains were delayed along a railway line after a coach of a passenger train derailed Saturday in Central China's Hunan Province, railway company said.

No casualties were reported in the accident along the railway line between Shanghai and Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan Province, said a spokesman with the Guangzhou Railway Group, which manages operation of railway lines in Hunan.

The accident happened at 7:24 am when the dining coach of Train No K492 from Kunming to Jinan city, East China's Shandong Province, derailed while approaching the station of Chenxi in Huaihua city, said the spokesman.

About 1,000 passengers onboard were later transferred to another train to continue their trip, he said.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
