Qin Guangrong elected Communist Party chief of SW China's Yunnan
Qin Guangrong was elected secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on November 29, 2011.
Qin, 61, was elected to the post at the first plenary session of the 9th CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee.
Qin served as the governor of Yunnan in Southwest China for four and a half years before being appointed by the CPC Central Committee as Party chief of Yunnan in August this year.
Qin, a native of Yongzhou in Hunan province, joined the CPC in 1972 and is also a member of the 17th CPC Central Committee.
