Ecuador will become the first South American country to jointly hold the China International Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Fair with the Chinese government in order to boost bilateral trade, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said on Tuesday.
Leonardo Arizaga, Ecuador's ambassador to China, said his country wants to focus on technology, education and cultural exchanges with China this year.
In order to bring more enterprises to the fair, Ecuador's government held meetings in five of its major cities to discuss how to do business in China. As the world's biggest exporter of bananas, Ecuador will bring seven banana produce companies to China.
The fair will be held from Sept 22 to 25 in the southern city of Guangzhou. It will provide an exhibition area covering 100,000 square meters and 5,000 booths for domestic and overseas enterprises.
