4.9-magnitude quake hits Yunnan

BEIJING - An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale jolted Southwest China's Yunnan province at 11:21 am Tuesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was monitored at about 24.7 degrees north latitude and 99.2 degrees east longitude, the center said in a statement.
