Koo Yuen Kim, the chairman of Perfect (China), has donated 10 million yuan ($1.57 million) to the Chinese Language and Culture Education Foundation of China to build a new campus for Jinan University.
The university, which has the largest number of overseas students in China, will build the new campus in Panyu district of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province.
The first phase of the new campus, with an investment of 1.7 billion yuan, will be put into operation by 2014.
As a Malaysian Chinese entrepreneur, Koo has been involved in various charity projects in Malaysia and China since founding Perfect (China) in Zhongshan, Guangdong, in 1994.
The company specializes in health food, personal care, household and beauty and skin care products.
