A tour around the country for silent films with accompanying live music by Swiss and Chinese players ended on Thursday.
The silent film tour finished in Beijing with the most famous science-fiction silent film, La Voyage dans La Lune.
Seven Swiss and Chinese bands started the China tour on Sept 10.
Musical instruments such as the e-bass and double bass, as well as live electronic music, drums and toys, brought the silent films back to life.
The tour was organized by the Institute of Incoherent Cinematography, a Swiss non-governmental organization established in 2011, and funded by the Swiss Embassy in China and the Swiss Arts Council.
"We're glad to offer Chinese audiences the best performances related to silent films," said Pablo Assandri, director of the Institute of Incoherent Cinematography. "We would like to hear Chinese people's response to the cultural events."
The institute is planning to go on tour through South America in 2013, followed by a trip through North America in 2014.
