4.6-magnitude earthquake hits NW China

BEIJING - A 4.6-magnitude earthquake jolted Turpan of Xinjiang uygur autonomous region in Northwest China at 12:09 pm Sunday (Beijing Time), the China Earthquake Networks Center said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 5 km, was determined to be at 43.4 degrees north latitude and 89.3 degrees east longitude, the center said.
