As heavy snow hits Northeast China, a new cold snap is expected to move through most parts of the country until Friday, dragging temperatures down by up to 10 C, the National Meteorological Administration said on Tuesday.

Most parts of Northwestern China are likely to see temperatures drop 6 to 10 C with gales.

The Xinjiang Uygur and Inner Mongolia autonomous regions, and northern and eastern parts of Northeast China are expected to see mild to medium snow from Tuesday to Friday, according to the agency.

While the northern parts of the country are hit by lower temperatures and snow, rain is expected in the southern parts during the week, the weather forecast said.

Meanwhile, temperatures will drop further across the country with another cold front expected from Nov 19 to 21.
