A symphony orchestra from Finland is to perform at the Sound of Yida 2013 New Year Concert in Dalian in Northeast China's Liaoning province.
Led by chief conductor Okko Kamu, the Lahti Symphony Orchestra will perform classical works by well known composers, including Jean Sibelius, at the theater of the Dalian International Conference Center.
The event will be staged from Dec 15 to 17.
Founded in 1949, the orchestra has been hailed by critics as one of the most renowned in the Nordic countries and as the best performer of works by Sibelius, who was Finnish.
Dalian-based property giant the Yida Group launched the Sound of Yida concert in 1994.
In the past 19 years, it has invited dozens of art groups from home and abroad to perform and hosted more than 70 concerts for residents of Dalian.
