A farmer in Yibin, Sichuan province, was detained after he set a fire in an office building that led to the injury of two policemen and damaged an office door, Chengdu Commercial Daily reported on Dec 17.
The villager, who had worked as a mariner, had a quarrel with a ship captain and suffered injuries to his eyes.
The Yibin Commerce Bureau helped him get compensation of 3,000 yuan ($481) from the captain, but the villager was not satisfied and went to the bureau many times for further compensation.
On Friday afternoon, he went to the bureau again with a bottle full of gasoline and threatened to burn down the office building. Policemen soon went to the spot and fought against him when he started a fire with his cigarette lighter.
Two policemen were injured by the fire and a door of an office room was burned.
The villager was detained and further investigation of the case is ongoing.
