SHANGHAI - A market fire that occurred Sunday evening in Shanghai had claimed six lives and injured more than ten as of 3 am Monday, said the local fire fighting authorities.
Ma Bing, a doctor with Changhai Hospital of Shanghai, which is treating eight of the injured, told Xinhua that three were burnt seriously.

Fire fighters have extinguished the blaze that broke out around 8:30 p.m. Sunday at a farm produce wholesale market in Pudong new district of Shanghai.
All injured people have been hospitalized, said the district's official microblog on the Twitter-like Sina Weibo.
Rescuers are still searching for the casualties at the fire site.
Opening around the clock, the Shanghai agricultural products central wholesale market is the city's largest wholesale market for farm produce and byproducts.
